Blair has over 30 years of experience in health IT at leading public and private companies. He has held executive roles in new market and business development, general management, government initiatives, strategic marketing, product strategy, and consulting. He has served on the leadership team of several health IT firms, and as a member of multiple boards of directors (public and private, for profit and not for profit).

Blair is Chairman at Wind River Advisory Group, a member of the Healthcare Services Executive Network for LEK Consulting, and a recently retired board member of Spōk, a global leader in clinical communications and collaboration. Previously, he was President at VitalHealth Software, a Mayo Ventures company which is now a part of the population health portfolio of Philips Healthcare. He also held the position of Vice President of International Development at GE Healthcare, managing large national ehealth infrastructure engagements in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Prior to this he was a member of the executive team at Vital Images, Inc., now a Canon Group company, the leader in 3D medical image processing software. 

Blair was also a two-term board member of Executives for Health Innovation in Washington, D.C., a coalition of over 200 of the most prestigious and influential healthcare stakeholders. Subsequently he joined the Consumer Engagement Advisory Council of the National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC), a public-private partner of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He has also been a board member of the California Institute of Computer Assisted Surgery (CICAS), a non-profit that researched computer-assisted surgery technologies, and of the VistA Software Alliance, which advocated for the use of open source EMR software.

Born in Bermuda, and educated at Yale University, Blair has lived and worked in nine countries. He is now based in Dubois, near Jackson in northwest Wyoming, where he co-founded the local economic development organization, DRIVE, and is a board member of the local humane society
